Performing nightly not only helps you build your buzz but it will put you in front of record label executives who came to see the headliner but happen to see you as well because you’re the opening act. It also says something about how others perceive you if you can snag a spot on a good tour. Obviously the headlining artist and/or their manager wouldn’t allow anyone who wasn’t of a certain level quality wise get on the bill. Opening up for a larger artist means that someone is co-signing you. I’ve seen the power of the co-sign do amazing things.
